The plot focuses on the relationship of a mother and her daughter, and how the mother's niceness causes a rift between the daughter and mother with the daughter believing her mother is being a 'doormat'. The serial also explores the love story of old age couples.

"Underdog" follows three boxers who are all underdogs. Suenaga Akira is a boxer, who struggles to succeed as a boxer. Omura Ryuta is a young boxer, who grew up in an orphanage. Miyagi Shun challenges a boxer, following the plans of a TV program.

The TV channel TV Tokyo is about to launch a morning drama, "Shimakko-san". Endo Kenichi, Oosugi Ren, Taguchi Tomorowo, Matsushige Yutaka and Mitsuishi Ken are sent to the filming location, but for some reason they arrive at desert island. To survive, they will have to collaborate. At the same time, the filming of the morning drama has to start...
