"Based on the life of one of Sono's friends, LOVE EXPOSURE is all about Yu, the son of a Catholic priest who loses his religion when his mother dies. Obsessed with sin and confession, Dad criticizes the state of his son's spotless soul, claiming that his confessions are weak and simple and that he must confess real sins. Unable to make anything up, there's nothing for Yu to do but become a sinner, and so the confused kid learns the ninja-tastic martial art of taking up-skirt photographs. Now a full-fledged pornographer he's really got something to confess, earning beatings from his shocked dad. But in the middle of his new career, while dressed (as the result of losing a bet) as Sasori, the hero of a series of 70's women-in-prison movies, Yu meets the love of his life, Yoko (Hikari Mitsushima), who's in the middle of beating up a bunch of horrible men. Drag-clad Yu jumps into the fray and that's when things get complicated. A villainess appears in the person of the giggling young schoolgirl, Aya (Sakura Ando) who shows up, stroking her green parakeet the way a Bond villain strokes his white cat, and soon she's manipulating these two star-crossed lovers in the name of the cult for which she works, the Zero Church."

Beijing, summer 2013. Ambitious, 31-year-old Meng Yun (Han Geng) co-runs a small ad agency with his longtime friend from university days, Luo Qian (Wang Likun), and enjoys the typical yuppie lifestyle of a single man. Attending the wedding banquet of an ex-girlfriend, Li Xiaojie (Mao Junjie), he finds himself seated at a "former boyfriends' table" along with four other guys. Across the room is a "former girlfriends' table" at which a fifth member, hotel employee Xia Lu (Helen Yao), arrives at the last moment. The bride and groom publicly thank their exes for "contributing to our emotional growth". When the girls start brawling, Meng Yun escapes with Xia Lu and by the next day they're a couple. At a dinner at Luo Qian's flat one evening, Meng Yun becomes slightly jealous when she invites along a male friend, the older and more experienced Zhao Ming (Zhang Hanyu). Another evening, Xia Lu invites her best friend Xiaowen (Bai Jiajia) to meet Meng Yun's best friend and work colleague Yu Fei (Ryan Zheng), and the two hit it off. On the way to celebrating their first 100 days together, Xia Lu and Meng Yun bump into Xia Lu's ex, South Korean playboy Park Eun-ho (Lee Sang-yeop), and at the restaurant they bump into another of Meng Yun's exes, Shang Dan (Liu Yan). Xiaowen and Yu Fei separately urge them to come clean about their past love lives, though each professes to be uncurious. But Eun-ho continues to pop up in their lives, as well as some of Meng Yun's other exes, including party girl Mengmeng (Xiong Naijin). Their easy-going relationship starts to become strained.

Is marriage the only route to happiness? Yuan Hao (Hu Ge) owns a travel agency and is successful, good-looking and rich. Having grown up in a broken family and dating a woman who constantly nags him about settling down, Yuan Hao is adverse to marriage. Mao Xiao Chun (Wang Xiao Chen) is a nurse who is perfectly happy with her career and doesn’t believe that relationships have to end with marriage. But when these two like-minded people meet, they instantly start off on the wrong foot and are at each other’s throats.
