Detective Investigation Files is a Hong Kong crime investigation drama series that features five different cases.

Young people from different backgrounds are studying martial arts at the Assassin Academy. Han Xiao Chu, the top school student, was the first to go out on outside mission. She was accompanied by the student Long Bi Xie, the last placed student. During the mission, something happens and Xiao Chu awakens back at the academy with all students missing the memory of Long Bi Xie and him also missing.

Ji Young Sun, when she was very young, gave away her daughter Lee Ja Kyung after giving birth. She later remarries and creates a new family, but soon after, her husband dies leaving her behind with her stepson Gu Wang Mo and daughter Gu Seul Ah. Lee Ja Kyung now grown, after being orphaned once again as a child by the passing of her foster parents, lives a life of loneliness and lack of love. Her birth mother Young Sun comes to find her, but in order to keep her daughter Ja Kyung by her side, tries to match her up with her stepson.

Xiao Liang (Bi) is the CEO of the world's biggest Diamond company. He's reserved, strict and counts every penny while doing business. He also chooses to close himself off from people, insisting relationships are of no worth in his life. Everything turns upside down when he meets Mi Dou (Tiffany Tang), a woman who changes his views in life and teaches him what it means to be alive and happy.
