Decadence and decay come hand in hand in the stirring new period drama Rouge Snow from top Mainland actress Fan Bingbing (Lost in Beijing). Fan, who actually invested in the production herself, attracted both high viewership ratings and rave reviews with her performance as the drama's tragic heroine. Set in the early Republican era, Rouge Snow co-stars heartthrobs from both sides of the strait, Yu Xiaowei (The Young Warrior) and Wallace Huo (Love at First Fight), as well as veteran actress Leanne Lau Suet Wah and doll-faced Li Qian (Twin of Brothers) in her first antagonist role. After her father's family business goes under, Wen Yuhe (Fan Bingbing) is unwillingly married off into the wealthy Gu family. She tries to escape on her wedding night, but her plans are foiled by steward Yunkai. Thus begins Yuhe's life married to a meek husband in the harrowing Gu household, as well as her confused relationship with Yunkai who has reasons of his own for serving the Gu family. Yunkai is searching for his lover Yiling who seems to have disappeared from existence since entering the Gu manor, widowed before her wedding. The mysterious Gu manor holds many strange characters and unspoken secrets, people living in the shadows. Tears and trials await Yuhe as relationships, identities, and motives are slowly revealed.

It turns out that a girl in his childhood, whom he cherishes and dotes on have grown up all wrong in his opinion. He was disappointed that she would take advantage of her father, scratch his car and cause uproar and trouble wherever she went. Not to mention that she dropped out of school. He took her failures personally and decided that it was his duty to fix her or change her into a responsible adult. So when the opportunity presented itself, that she owed him money, he made her work in his restaurant to pay off the debt
