Separated at birth and brought up by rivalling masters, twins Hua Wu Que and Xiao Yu Er reunite 18 years later to collaborate and combine forces so as to nullify a conspiracy to take over the martial arts world. This attempt by movie director Wong Jing to turn renowned novelist Gu Long’s classic martial arts novel into a TV series stars Dicky Cheung and Nicholas Tse as the legendary twin brothers Xiao Yu Er and Hua Wu Que respectively.

In a detective story full of bizarre twists and turns, perfectionist Cheng Yang and analytical reasoning expert Jun Wugui represent the boys while Su Wenyue who is skilled in martial arts and the quirky Ouyang Chuchu are their female counterparts. Together, they examine every piece of evidence to shed light on the truth.

After getting kicked out from their 24th school for starting fights and couldn't find another school that would accept them, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei thought it's God-sent that Liu Bei (the king) proposed to be their sworn brothers so they could enroll into the prestigious Dong Han Shu Yuan, a school exclusively for royalty, on the condition that they pay for his tuition.
